Q. What is GiveNDay?
Northern State University’s GiveNDay is a 36-hour online fundraising campaign that seeks to inspire supporters of Northern to come together, show their pride and provide essential funding to areas across the University. This annual event provides an exciting opportunity for giving at Northern State University unlike any other! NSU invites current students, staff, faculty, alumni, friends and community leaders to participate.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. - Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 9:00 p.m.
Q. Who can donate?
Anyone! Supporters of NSU are invited to join the Wolf Pack by donating on GiveNDay! Every gift makes a difference and together we can transform the university experience for every student in a big way.
Q. How can I donate?
Gifts made to GiveNDay through https://givingday.northern.edu, in response to GiveNDay mailings, or via the NSU Foundation Telefund program will be counted towards GiveNDay totals.
Q. Where does my GiveNDay gift go?
Supporters are encouraged to designate their gifts to any area on campus in which they feel most passionately. However, if you do not wish to prioritize any specific designation, you are encouraged to give to the University’s Greatest Need. The Greatest Need is the backbone of NSU’s fundraising efforts. It is responsible for providing scholarships to students and discretionary funds when there is an unexpected need or a sudden exciting opportunity for our students, staff, or faculty. The Greatest Need is the only fund that benefits ALL four NSU Colleges – School of Business, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, and School of Fine Arts.
Q. Can I give to multiple areas of the university?
Yes!
Q. Is there a minimum gift amount?
While gifts of all sizes are encouraged, there is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. What forms of donations are accepted?
MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted on the GiveNDay website – givingday.northern.edu.
Q. How will my donation(s) be distributed?
All donations made to GiveNDay are sent directly from GiveGab to the NSU Foundation via direct deposit within five business days. From there, the NSU Foundation will disperse funds to all categories and funds chosen by donors.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Completely – Northern State University’s GiveNDay is facilitated by GiveGab, a company that has partnered with Stripe – a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) - to process all gifts made through givingday.northern.edu.
Q. What is GiveGab?
GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors, and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy-to-use products that allow organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.
Q. Is my gift tax deductible? Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes! All gifts made during GiveNDay are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. A receipt will be emailed to you after you make your donation.
Q. Does it cost anything to give through givingday.northern.edu? How much of my donation will the University receive?
There is a 4% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover. You have the option to cover these costs for NSU in addition to your gift. However, the NSU Foundation will receive 100% of your donated amount to support students and university priorities.
